学生权利法案

Under 埃尔迈拉大学's 学生权利法案, you have the right to: 

1. Make a report to 当地执法部门 和/或州警察; 

2. Have disclosures of domestic violence, 约会暴力, 跟踪, and sexual assault treated seriously; 

3. Make a decision about whether or not to disclose a crime or violation and participate in the judicial or conduct process and/or 刑事司法 process free from pressure by 埃尔迈拉大学; 

4. Participate in a process that is 公平, 公正的, and provides adequate notice and a meaningful opportunity to be heard; 

5. Be treated with dignity and to receive from the institution courteous, 公平, and respectful health care and counseling services, 可用; 

6. Be free from any suggestion that a complainant is at fault when these crimes and violations are committed, or should have acted in a different manner to avoid such crimes or violations; 

7. Describe the incident to as few 埃尔迈拉大学 representatives as practicable and not be required to unnecessarily repeat a description of the incident; 

8. Be protected from retaliation by 埃尔迈拉大学, 任何学生, the 指责 and/or the respondent, 和/或他们的朋友, family and acquaintances within the jurisdiction of the 埃尔迈拉; 

9. Access to at least one level of appeal of a determination;

10. Be accompanied by an adviser of choice who may assist and advise a complainant, 指责, or respondent throughout the judicial or conduct process including during all meetings and hearings related to such process; and 

11. Exercise civil rights and practice of religion without interference by the investigative, 刑事司法, or judicial or conduct process of 埃尔迈拉大学 

You have the right to make a report to the 埃尔迈拉大学 Office of 校园 Safety, 当地执法部门, 和/或州警察, or choose not to report; to report the incident to 埃尔迈拉大学; to be protected by 埃尔迈拉大学 from retaliation for reporting an incident; and to receive assistance and resources from 埃尔迈拉大学.
